Deputy surveyor at Arkansas General Land Office. Caleb Langtree was an Irish immigrant, civil engineer, and cartographer, who, according to 1850 census records, had married an Arkansas native (Eliza) and settled in Little Rock to raise a family that included at least four daughters.
